Terms of Service

The Chinese version governs; this English version is a translation for convenience. Read the Chinese version

Last updated: 2026-10-04. Following the structure of formal terms, this page describes the services Lumina provides, accounts and access, rules of use, how payment works, knowledge bases and personal data, how downloads work, and the limits of responsibility. Items that can be verified are stated directly; terms still to be confirmed will be added once confirmed, and this page does not invent them.

1. Services covered

These terms apply to the Lumina desktop client (macOS and Windows), the public website, the customer center (called the Portal below), and the answer gateway the client connects to. By using any of these entry points, you use the service under the current description on this page; once formal terms are published, the formal terms prevail.

2. Accounts and devices

Some capabilities require a Portal account, a valid sign-in and a bound device. After you register you receive an invitation code awaiting activation; on first activation in the client the code is bound to the current device, and once activation succeeds an access key is issued for that device.

  • Keep your sign-in details safe, and do not share access keys, invitation codes or download links; each account is for its owner's use.
  • Switching computers uses the same 30-day cooldown at every entry point: after a successful self-service rebind in the Portal, you need to activate again on the new device; support can handle exceptions manually after verification and keeps an audit record.
  • When there are unusually many devices or IPs, or suspected sharing, risk control may suspend access and require manual verification; benefits you have already paid for are not affected during verification.

3. Rules of use

  • You must comply with applicable law, meeting rules, your organization's policies and the rules of third-party platforms such as Zoom.
  • Lumina is not meant to evade supervision, and does not promise that the overlay is certainly invisible during screen sharing; compatibility before sharing depends on the actual configuration of you and the meeting host.
  • You may not resell the service, operate it on behalf of others, bypass billing and permission controls, attack or interfere with the service, or scrape the raw material of the shared knowledge base.
  • The raw material of the professional knowledge base (finance and technology) is a confidential asset: ordinary users cannot browse, search or export it; it takes part in retrieval only inside the answer pipeline, by relevance.

4. Plans and billing

  • Monthly subscription, auto-renewal by default. A subscription period is 30 days. Auto-renewal is on by default when you subscribe: payment methods that support automatic charging are charged and renewed automatically at the end of each period; for other payment methods a renewal order is generated 5 days before expiry and the customer center reminds you to pay. You can turn auto-renewal off in the customer center at any time; after that the current period stays usable as normal, and it is not renewed after it ends.
  • Billing by quota. Each period provides one usage quota; answers, screen reading, cloud speech recognition and meeting notes are deducted by actual usage. The quota is distributed weekly, and the part available for the week is restored every Monday at 00:00 (China time). When the quota is used up the corresponding service pauses and nothing extra is charged. The customer center shows the share of quota used as a percentage.
  • Upgrades take effect immediately, downgrades after expiry. An upgrade takes effect as soon as it is paid and starts a new period from the time of payment; a downgrade takes effect after the current period ends, and until then you keep using the current plan. Paying a renewal in advance does not shorten a period already paid for; the new period follows the current one.
  • Quota and price per plan. Quota rises with the plan, with the Basic plan as 1x: Standard 1.8x, Pro 3.4x, Flagship 7x; benefits per plan are as currently described on the pricing page and in the customer center. Current prices (RMB, per 30 days): Basic ¥38, Standard ¥68, Pro ¥128, Flagship ¥268.
  • Response priority: Pro and Flagship can start 12 answer requests per minute, Basic and Standard 6; requests beyond that wait in turn.
  • Minute or item balances bought before the billing method was changed are no longer used for billing; paid subscription periods are not affected and are used by quota as described in this section.

5. Free tier

  • Free tier: after you register and first activate in the client you can use it for free, with a trial quota each period that is restored each period. The free tier does not include meeting notes; other capabilities are as currently described in the customer center. Registering repeatedly on the same device does not grant the trial again.
  • When a subscription expires without renewal, the account returns to the free tier, and your personal material and knowledge base are kept as usual.
  • The free quota is a gift, not a purchase; it does not constitute any payment or refund relationship.

6. Knowledge bases and personal data

  • The personal knowledge base is stored in a partition per account, visible only to you, and takes part in answers only when you turn on the knowledge feature and your plan includes it; the basic knowledge tier only reads your own material and does not inject it into answers.
  • You can view, edit and delete your own entries in the Portal library; deletion takes effect immediately. Story text import (.txt/.md) is read only on your own computer.
  • Data export and account deletion are handled manually through the support channel: send an email to luminameet@gmail.com · WeChat support: luminameet_01; they are processed after the account is verified, and the scope of deletion and the retention window are in the privacy notice.
  • The raw material of the shared knowledge base is not your personal data, and is not available to browse, search or export.

7. Software and downloads

  • The current public client supports Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 13 or later) and Windows 10 version 2004 (build 19041) or later, and Windows 11; the Windows build is provided as an unsigned portable ZIP and needs to get past the SmartScreen prompt on first run. Intel Macs and mobile are not supported yet.
  • The installer is downloaded after signing in to the Portal through a signed link valid for 5 minutes; where a watermark can be applied it carries a traceable watermark; the public site offers no anonymous direct links.
  • The local transcription model is installed once with the client and takes extra disk space (about 375MB), used to complete speech recognition on the device.
  • Please do not redistribute the installer; to enable it for a team, contact the support email.

8. Payment, refunds and cancellation

  • Manually confirmed payment channels are supported at present; whether an online payment channel is enabled is as actually shown on the order page. A method that does not appear on the checkout page is not enabled at present.
  • Refunds are requested under the refund notes, and cancellation and expiry are handled under the cancellation notes; both start with manual review through the support email.
  • Specific refund eligibility, the application window, taxes and channel differences await the formal text; this page does not promise specific days or ratios.

9. Limits of capability, and termination

  • Transcription runs on the device by default and can be switched to the cloud fast or standard mode; answer generation and session memory go through the gateway, and local transcription does not mean offline answers.
  • Whether a shared picture shows the overlay depends on macOS, the meeting app and the share source; in supported configurations the overlay can stay out of shared content, but it is not promised that every way of sharing will hide it.
  • Answers are generated by AI and may be wrong or incomplete, so check them before use; output is meant for speaking and is not legal, medical, investment or other professional advice. Answer speed depends on actual use, and public pages do not promise specific times.
  • When the rules of use are violated, billing is bypassed, the service is attacked, resold, or there is high-risk abnormal activity, we may suspend or terminate access and keep an audit record; quota paid for but not consumed is handled under the refund notes.
  • Terms on intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnity and licensing will be added to this page once confirmed, and this page does not invent these rules. Changes by upstream models or suppliers may change capabilities, and material changes will be described on this page.

10. Contact and support

Payment fulfilment, refunds, device switching, deletion and export, and security reports all go through the same entry point: luminameet@gmail.com · WeChat support: luminameet_01; the full scope of support is on the Support and contact page. We will not ask for your password or verification codes by email.
